18th October 2010 marked the beginning of Samovarteateret’s 20-year anniversary celebration. The “FeelGood”-week’s aim was to act as a meeting point for stage performers in the Barents Region, as well as bringing together some of Samovarteateret’s many contacts from both Norway and abroad. For five full days Scene 2 was filled with; guest performances, film showings, discussions, good food, conversations and exchanges of ideas. The week culminated in Samovarteateret’s own grand performance “Så lenge skuta kan gå.”

Following the success of last year’s “FeelGood”- week at Scene 2, Samovarteateret wants to establish an annual “FeelGood” – week that can be the starting point for new stage productions, a stage and meeting point for artists from both Norway and abroad. The plan was to host another “FeelGood” – week in October 2011, but due to delays in processing the applications we have sent out to get funding for this “FeelGood”- week,  we are sorry to announce that we have no other option than to cancel this year’s “FeelGood”-week.

1000Although the “FeelGood”- week is cancelled, we will still host one guest performance this week. On Wednesday 19th October, Teaterhuset  Avant Garden from Trondheim will be at Scene 2 showing their performance “1000 zašto 1000 zato”. “1000 why 1000 therefore”, as the title would be in English, is a story based on Azra Halilovic’s diaries written as a child living in the war-torn Bosnia and Hercegovina, and as a young refugee in Norway in the 1990s.

Even though we are really sorry that we have to cancel the “FeelGood”- week this year, we are working towards next year’s “FeelGood” – week 2012.

That will be the first event hosted by Samovarteateret after we move into the new theatre during summer 2012.  So we would like to wish you all welcome to the grand opening and festivities and a week like no other during “FeelGood” – week 2012!

Welcome!
