SAMOVARTEATERET PARTICIPATES AT DANCEFEST

04Even though it’s been summer, the theatre has not been completely on vacation. In June, Nikolay attended a dance festival “IKRA” in Haparanda, Sweden, where he showed the performance “Cold Fish” together with Polish dancer Anna Piotrowska. Nikolay also taught workshops for other dancers at the festival.

Nikolay also attended the 17th International Street Theatre Festival in Arkhangelsk, arranged by Teatr Panova. Also at this festival Nikolay held workshops.

THE THEATRE SCHOOL

stOur theatre school, Samovarungan, will be starting up again in September, and we wish both new and old students welcome. We have new challenges for the students, and we can’t wait to see what they will be able to achieve this year.

FESTSPILLENE I NORD-NORGE ARE COMING TO SCENE 2:

terem_quartetTuesday 20th September Festspillene in Nord-Norge are coming to Kirkenes with their concert with the Terem Quartet and Forsvarets Musikkorps Nord-Norge at Scene 2.

The concert starts at 19.30

The café will open at 18.30

Ticket price kr 200,-

THEATRE FOR THE CHILDREN:

ggfweb21st September Hålogaland Teater are guests at Scene 2 with their children’s performance “Gutten og gullfuglen”/”The boy and the goldbird.”

“Gutten og gullfuglen” tells the story of a little boy who’s sister disappears while they are out berry-picking. She has been captured by the stalloes, and brave as he is the little boy decides he has to free his sister. “

“Gutten og gullfuglen” is a performance for all ages, but suits children above the age of 3 best.

Tickets can be booked in advance at Servicekontoret  at Rådhuset in Kirkenes. Opening hours 09.00-15.00 Monday- Friday.

OCTOBER

RADIO BARENTS 111:

Samen møter DamenWe are continuing the work on Radio Barents 111, and in October we will shoot some more scenes for the film around Kirkenes, and Thorvald Stoltenberg is even coming to play himself!

After filming is finished in October, we are preparing for the rehearsal period on stage that will start in November.

 

FEELGOOD-WEEK :

17-22  October we will have a new FeelGood- week at Scene 2, with delicious food, our charming cafe, splendid concerts, inspiring debates and outstanding performances!

1000Teaterhuset Avant Garden from Trondheim is one of the groups that will be our guests during the week, and they will show the performance  ”1000 zašto 1000 zato.”

” The performance “1000 zašto 1000 zato” (“1000 why 1000 therefore”) is a story based on Azra Halilovic’s diaries written as a child living in the war-torn Bosnia and Hercegovina, and as a young refugee in Norway in the 1990s. How does these experiences influence her life now? “

 

HÅLOGALAND TEATER PRESENS:

Famous dancer, choreographer and director Jo Strømgren examines the battle between the sexes in his new production Grensen / The Border.

“A woman and a man work together. They have respect for each other, but underneath the surface a territorial battle takes place. Can this battle be seen as a picture of a classic border conflict between two countries?”

February 2012:

During the festival Barents Spektakel 2012 Samovarteateret will have their premiere of Radio Barents 111, a brand new, highly contemporary performance that takes the audience on a journey to the end of the world and the heart of Barents.
